CATCH Neighborhood Housing is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its board of directors. At its March meeting, the board approved the addition of Greg Chakmakas and Greg Lessard.
Greg Chakmakas is an attorney and shareholder at Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green and is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Group. His focus is on advising nonprofit and for-profit owners and developers in the preservation and production of affordable housing with an emphasis on the low-income housing tax credit program. He is a member of the Manchester Regional Board for Waypoint, a graduate of Leadership Greater Manchester, and a member of CATCH’s Community Relations Committee.
When asked about serving on CATCH’s board of directors, Chakmakas said, “I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to be a part of an organization that is so important to affordable housing in New Hampshire. I look forward to stepping into this role to further CATCH Neighborhood Housing’s mission to create communities where every person is confident of a safe and affordable home.”
Greg Lessard is Director of Housing Initiatives for the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness (“CCEH”). He has had a varied career in financial compliance work and business ownership, and most recently spent nine years working as the Director of Development at the Concord Food Coop where he was very active in Concord’s nonprofit community. He served on the CCEH board for four years until he accepted his current position.
Lessard said, “I am very thankful to have the opportunity to support CATCH with its noble mission to create communities where every person is confident of a safe and affordable home. I am grateful for the work that CATCH does throughout New Hampshire. The need to construct new affordable housing units and to revitalize existing housing has never been greater.”
CATCH President and CEO Tom Furtado said, “We are very excited to welcome Greg Chakmakas and Greg Lessard to CATCH’s board this year. They each bring expertise and experiences that will be very valuable to CATCH’s leadership. I look forward to working with them and the rest of our board members to strengthen CATCH in the years to come!”
