CATCH Celebrates Community & Promotes Housing During NeighborWorks Week

On Wednesday, June 5, dozens of CATCH staff, volunteers, and supporters met at CATCH Neighborhood Housing’s offices to celebrate a ceremonial ribbon cutting, a kick-off to our 30th anniversary year, and recognition of NeighborWorks Week 2019. Concord Mayor Jim Bouley and Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce leadership and ambassadors joined the festivities, cutting the ribbon and extending support and well wishes for CATCH’s milestone.

“We are so pleased to be celebrating the kickoff of our 30th year with so many wonderful volunteers, board members, and community leaders here today,” said CATCH President, Rosemary M. Heard. “It’s hard to believe CATCH has been around since 1989, and while we’ve made significant strides in creating housing for those in our community not being served, with your support, we will continue striving toward our vision of communities where every person is confident of a home.”

As a NeighborWorks America network organization, CATCH participated in their annual nationwide celebration of neighborhood change and awareness. Throughout the week (June 1-8), CATCH participated in several events to promote awareness of the network and CATCH’s work in the housing arena. CATCH President Rosemary M. Heard participated in a discussion on NHPR’s The Exchange promoting housing as a key factor in the strength of New Hampshire’s workforce and economy. On June 6th, Heard also received the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Pinnacle Award for Business Leader of the Year, and encouraged the group of nearly 300 business leaders to support the creation of more housing that is affordable in our community.

The NeighborWorks network was founded and is supported by NeighborWorks America, which creates opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities.
