CATCH's Senior Property Turns 10

CATCH Neighborhood Housing recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of its Concord property dedicated to safe, affordable homes for seniors, Friedman Court II.

Completed in September 2008, Friedman Court II is CATCH’s first affordable community for seniors age 62 and over. The beautiful three-level building houses 41 spacious apartments, including 35 one-bedroom and 6 two-bedroom apartments. The property was completed by Gary Chicoine Construction, designed by Warrenstreet Architects, and the legal work was done by Orr and Reno.

The 10-year anniversary of Friedman Court II was culminated with a party held at the property on September 27. Nearly all of the residents, CATCH Neighborhood Housing and Alliance Asset Management staff, and many partner organizations were in attendance to celebrate the milestone. Representatives from Citizens Bank, which provided the construction financing and permanent debt on the project, were in attendance, as well as current partners KDL Cleaning and Dutton Outdoor Services. The Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association also joined in the celebration to recognize their partnership with CATCH in the PATHS Program: Positive Aging Through Home Supports. This year-old program uses a team-based approach that includes a health educator, wellness nurse, and Resident Services Coordinator to support participants by helping them remain safe and healthy in their homes.

“We are so thrilled to recognize this milestone at Friedman Court II” said CATCH President, Rosemary M. Heard. “This event was a success in celebrating our wonderful residents, 13 of which have lived here since the beginning, and all the partners and service providers who help them, and us, be successful.”

This event was generously sponsored by another of CATCH’s partners, Sanel NAPA. Matthew D’Amore, Chief Financial Officer of Sanel NAPA and current CATCH board member, said, “As a family owned company Sanel NAPA understands it is important for the people of the communities it serves to have opportunities for affordable, quality housing. Sanel NAPA is proud to partner with CATCH Neighborhood Housing to provide these opportunities.”

“Sanel NAPA is a perfect example of our collaborative effort in creating communities where everyone is confident of a home,” said Heard. “We could not have made this project work without the support of our community, and that remains true today. We are forever grateful for the support of the many organizations and individuals who help us work toward our vision every day.”
