CATCH Communities Celebrate NeighborWorks Week

On June 6-13, CATCH staff, residents, volunteers and supporters will be collaborating to create an online “Building Stronger Communities” campaign as part of a weeklong celebration of neighborhood improvement activities nationally recognized as NeighborWorks Week. CATCH and other NeighborWorks America organizations across the country will focus on neighborhood change and awareness and host a number of events that educate, train and inform. The events demonstrate the value of neighbors helping neighbors all across the country.

“While we are disappointed that we can’t all be together in recognition of NeighborWorks Week this year, we are hopeful that this online campaign will help us recognize the positive leaders and community builders in our neighborhoods,” said CATCH President Rosemary M. Heard.

CATCH encourages everyone to visit its website at www.catchhousing.org/programs to download a template for a window sign to print out, fill in, and hang in a window. People are invited to share photos of their window signs and tag CATCH @catchhousing on Facebook, twitter, and Instagram throughout the week. In this way CATCH hopes to spread positivity and community building throughout our cities!

CATCH is part of the national NeighborWorks network, an affiliation of nearly 250 nonprofit organizations located in every state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In fiscal year 2019, the NeighborWorks network provided 457,200 housing and counseling services; owned and managed 173,700 rental homes; and created 47,100 jobs. The NeighborWorks network was founded and is supported by NeighborWorks America, which creates opportunities for people to live in affordable homes, improve their lives and strengthen their communities.
